Whew! Whew and whew again. We're back! The kiddos have returned also and are tucked away in their own beds, so I'm sneaking some blog time. There is so much I want to say and am having a hard time collecting my thoughts, so I'm just going to dive right in and jabber away for a bit and will be back soon jabbering a little more about market.
What a fun weekend! We would be up at 6 and not hit the bed till midnight. I am totally exhaust ed, but energized at the same time. Hmmm..where to begin? We'll start the recollections with my friends.
Part of the wonder of market is that you get to hear what your pals are up to. I don't consider other designers my "competition." They're my friends and I drool over their products just as much as the next person. Let's just start go in order of appearance, shall we?
Heather is up to lots and lots and lots and lots..she hasn't posted any big spills yet, but don't think she isn't working on anything. Far from it, sit back and be amazed.
Anna is just as drop dead gorgeous as ever (really-Internet pictures don't do her justice) and everyone knows she has a book in the works as well as 2 lines of fabric that will be out of this world.
Laura is so so fun. Way hip and chic. One of those people that is so easy to talk to. She's got big plans in the works too. But I'm not spilling a thing y'all, sorry. (Can you tell I've been in Texas?)
Liesl Oh Liesl Liesl..(Liesl always was my favorite Von Trap, maybe that has something to do with how well I bonded with Miss Disdressed?) Her new company Oliver and S is off to a smashing start. Her patterns are going to be a huge hit.
Joel Remember during my last market report and I said you probably haven't heard his name yet, but soon will know it? Ha! You do now, don't you? Joel is great, I must say I don't remember him towering over me last time..I'm not exactly short myself. New line debuting soon! Keep watch.
Caroline was my dinner date one night. Well, her on the right and Dustin on the left.
Chelsea and her aunt Lila were there as well and we got to have dinner with them one night. Lots and lots of girl talk and laughing with Dustin sitting in the corner looking around for a man to talk to. Ha! That's what happens when you sign up to tail your wife for a weekend I suppose?
Amy signed her new book for me, which I devoured on the plane ride home Go get it-you won't be disappointed. Promise.
Joanna I just love Joanna. What a sweet friend she has been to me. So giving of helpful information without wanting anything in return. Joanna has a new line out called Dandelion Girl and I do believe it is my favorite of hers so far!
My new friend Tina stole the show with her gorgeous booth that her husband built for her. She has an accent that I could listen to for hours..
Ginger Blossom is off to an amazing start. Exciting news-at market it was decided to print some in flannel. How fun will that be to play with?! I'm already thinking up all the fun projects to do with flannel.
Like the bag? Lisa was so sweet and whipped up a couple for me. I don't have a picture of the other right now, I will work on that though, and get it up for all to see. Everyone loved them! There are lots more Ginger Blossom goodies that have yet to be properly photographed. I will work on that today and share tomorrow hopefully. Like the beautiful quilt that Jessi whipped up for me too..
I could go on and on about how wonderful the crew at Michael Miller is. I was happy when I signed with them, but now I thank my lucky stars to be with such a talented and fun group of people. Kathy is so generous and kind. Such a talented person to be working with. Michael is wonderful too-Dustin and he hit it off quite well. I could recount numberless stories of our time with them, but some things just have to remain unspoken. I will however say that they have a highly fine tuned sense of humor. I think we will fit in quite nicely with them and possibly give them a run for their money. The chairs over there are from their booth. Pretty place to sit for a while, huh?
I think I've gone on long enough for a while. I'll be back soon with more pictures and Market tales. :)
