I've really been trying to experiment lately with all my many creative projects-pushing myself a little farther and trying new things. When you get to see my new line of fabric, I hope you see that! I spent a long time working on this next line and just love it. I really tried to take the artwork to a new level and it was really rewarding! I've been trying to do this with photography lately too. I find that every time I take a picture, I edit it the same way, using the same actions and with the same result. I love having bright, crisp pictures but really thought it was time to spread my wings a little and see what else I could come up with. When a friend of mine asked me to photograph her little boy and niece and nephew, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. Editing the photos at print size instead of web size is trickier (for me) but I took it slow and am really happy with the results. I by no means am planning on starting a photography business, but it is fun all the same. :)
I like to call this last one "Galaxy Eyes". I didn't do any special editing to his eyes to make them like that! (Or the one above to get them that blue.) He just has gorgeous eyes!

Wonderful photos and such precious little faces those children have. What type of camera do you have? I am in the market for a new one myself. I am outgrowing the point and shoot and would like to invest in something to give me a little better picture quality. Check out www.myfunkycamera.com if you get a chance. You may find something you like! Lots of cool camera stuff for the photo junky!

I find it energizing to play with different creative arts. It gives me a outlet to just experiment in a way that's sometimes a little more challenging, outside of that comfort zone where I like to reside.

Beautiful shots Sandi! Will you consider doing a little post about your camera/lenses and maybe throw a little advice in the mix? :) You do such a nice job, and I too (like a fellow commenter), am doing my research for a new camera. I know you're crazy busy right now, but sometime in the future maybe...?

I'm with Jennifer above....Can you tell us about your camera, etc. I want to move up to an SLR and have been looking and acquiring info on it.
As usual, beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing them.

Those are gorgeous photos. I love that you push yourself. I try to do this when I realize that I'm doing the same things over and over again.

Outstanding photos...children make great studies, and the little fellow with the "gallaxy" eyes is stunning! And I love the music with the blog...could just listen for the entire evening. I'll visit again...and again. And I love the fabric, too.

These pictures are really sweet! Btw, I really love your fabrics. I love using these fabrics to take my food pictures, but I only have a few so far. Do you sell your fabrics at Craft-O-Rama? I found the link to your blog on there :). I only wish I could sew! Right now I'm trying to focus on cooking - but when it comes to doing fun and artsy things, I have a really tough time staying focused :D. hehe
