So this weekend I decided to spruce my studio space and get rid of the excess that I just don't use. If you happen to live near me, there is a mountain of fabric, patterns and trim in my living room ripe for the pickin'.
In the process of the scourge, a shelf that has been up for about 8 months crashed down on my left arm along with everything it held. There were about 30 glass jars holding various ribbons, buttons and trims and only one survived the fall. There was glass everywhere but thankfully I got by with only an icky cut on my ring finger. The shelf has now been rehung and reinforced. The bobbles and bits are now residing in the closet in a basket.
In their place are new pretties, found at Joannes. And I didn't actually have a sewing basket before, so now I have two! Pretty cute huh? I'm hoping there will be some left when they go on super clearance and I'll stock up for gifts.
Do you Lenka?
No, not a game, a person. As in all I'm listening to right now, I can't turn her off. I highly recommend!

The survey you can fill out to enter for the Hullabaloo gift cards expires Thursday, so if you would like to enter, try and do it by then!

I tried to post the winners of the giveaway that we had here a while back but my internet crashed and this is the second time writing this post so I'll leave that for later this week. Sorry it's taken so long to get it posted!

Oh! I just fell in love with Lenka too!

Super sad that our Joanns has not had those beauties yet! I will keep waiting and watching! ;) Glad that you are okay after the big shelf fall out!

wish I lived nearby! How about all you can stuff into a flat rate priority mail box for the cost of shipping??

I thought I recognized your fabric at Joanns!!! I saw some super cute sewing baskets and I told my friend, "I think this is 'Farmer's Market'". Hehe - I was right! :)

Oh my goodness! I thought you covered the baskets yourself. I had no idea that Joanns carried them that way!?! Are they carrying your fabrics too?

Oh, so sad. All those beautiful glass jars! I'm glad you didn't get too hurt.
I'd love to take some of the fabric off your hands/sofa but I don't think we live nearby. Oh well, I'm sure it'll find good homes.
I do like Lenka, but I like the original just a little bit more. Bjork.

Eeek, That's a bummer about your jars. I adore Lenka. Your new playlist is fab! How's the working out going? I need to get back into it real bad! Darn this snow and ice. I want to run outside.

I bought one of those sewing boxes for my daughter at Christmas and she loves it! It is now stuffed with all manner of sewing notions!
I am glad to hear you are OK after your shelf fell!

I too have seen the baskets at JoAnn's but thought the fabric was a knock off and did not take a second look, now I will!!!

I wish I lived closer also -- I would be going thru all your piles. I like the idea of a flat rate box. I had surgery last week so I'm a little late at getting you that picture of my cabinet but I will get it to you soon. Love those baskets -- is there anything you can't do or make.
Hugs, Nancy

That thing with the shelf? I did that a couple months ago with my IL's dish shelf...I barely touched the middle shelf, and it tipped, dumping all the dishes on that shelf onto the shelf under it, and took it all to the floor. The noise was INCREDIBLE! It was FIL's fault for installing the shelf wrong, but MAN, did/do I feel bad! They still haven't managed to restock!
And I love Lenka. So cute.
I'm so jealous of whoever gets to come and glean your fabric pile.

I love Lenka too. Her music is so fresh and beautiful. Thanks for the tip on those sewing baskets. I love them too.

Wow - I wish I lived nearby, but I guess I can't really say I do... Today I have been sewing for a year, and I was just putting together a mosaic of some of the things I've been making. It's funny how quite a few of the things include your fabric in one way or another... So thanks for all the fabric goodness! :)

I just stumbled on to your blog, and will definitely be adding it to my reading list. Your fabrics are just gorgeous! I'm in California is that anywhere close to you, because free beautiful fabric is always welcome in my world:)

Lovely sewing baskets, Sandi. I'm in the midst of a studio sprucing too so I might just have to pop on over to Joann's and pick up one or two of those! :)

I see a trip to JoAnn's in my very near future (tomorrow). Lovely.

YEP YEP YEP Sandi I saw your fabrics on baskets at Joann last week and also on the COOLEST pillows at a hip furniture store called Arhaus a few weeks ago. I took a picture of the pillows on my cell phone--I need to send it to you. Made me smile :) I making a pineapple out of your fabric right now--show you in a few days. Stay safe---as in aways from shelves with glass jars that could crash down on your head. HUGS!

oooh, so glad you weren't hurt really bad.
I, too, wish I lived closer! I have a sewing crafty friend that just moved to your area. Can I send her by?
Like the idea of stuffing a flat rate box with goodies...I'd be happy to pay for the shipping. What fun that would be.
