Last weekend, as I mentioned, I gathered up
Jessica from Salt Lake and had a slumber party at the
Hotel Monaco. I read about the place on
Nie Nie's blog way back when and was intrigued by the colors of the place. It didn't disappoint and I would recommend it to anyone! We ate at the restaraunt too-and it was out of this world good! I don't really get into food much anymore, but I enjoyed that meal to the last bite. The company might have helped. ;)
What a flood of memories that night brought about. (It didn't bring much sleep, but many memories, yes.) The eighteen hundred thousand times we spent the night together during high school, we generally spent taking pictures. (and drinking lemon juice, but that's a story for a different time.)
Pictures of us, pictures of things, pictures of us doing incredibly odd things. So naturally, that's what we did. We tried to recreate some of my favorite shots of us 10-ish years ago and added some new ones to the mix.
The leopard is courtesy of the hotel. You can get zebra striped too, if your flavor runs that direction. We jumped on the bed. Please remind me of this if I ever post about my children doing this and it driving me crazy. (OK? thanks.)
We talked and talked - but instead of the boys we were head over heals with, we talked about our spouses, children and work. Jessica has gone on to receive a Masters in (what Jessica? math?) - well she was working as the worlds coolest teacher until her husband
Will graduated from college and now she is home with her kidluns. And you all know what I do.
Jessica hopped off the plane in these snazzy lilac shoes and the next day, donned some traffic stopping red ones. She insisted that she could move in 'em, so I made her run back and forth to prove it. She topped me and added a dance to the end.
It was so much fun! (So much so that we have declared it a annual thing now.) Not only to see Jessica, but to visit with her family too. (She came into town to go to her new nephews baby blessing. You can read about it on her blog.) It was easy to say goodbye because we're going to invade them in San Diego at the end of our Disneyland trip. A couple days of Seaworld and the beach- can't wait.
Now, on completely different news-can someone give me the run down on Twitter? I've resisted but I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing out on something really cool here. ?
I want to stay connected with you all-really I do.
PS-something kinda cool up next week, and a giveaway.

So fun! Girl getaways are always the best. I'm headed to one in May.
PS- You look great! I need to start posting more pictures of myself too. Not just for people who read blogs, but for my kids to have. I don't have many pictures of my mom and I want my kids to have pictures of me!

Twitter is like blogging for those of us with A.D.D. Share the unimportant trivial details of daily life... things that happen or you are up to that do not warrant a blog post in themselves, yet are marginally interesting.
I love it, since I can do it from my phone... and it takes just seconds.

Girly weekends are a definite must. Before my youngest was born four years ago my sister and I did girly weekends at least twice a year - the last was in Prague which is such a stunning city - before that Barcelona. I really miss that - you've spurred me in to action to get something sorted! I think Paris was supposed to be our next destination, but we never got round to it. Time to plan...

Ok this is going to sound weird, but I've been checking your blog out for the past year or so, and I just saw that picture of Jessica on your blog! We were roommates in College, I lived with her while Will was on the East doing an Internship, and I was going to teach second grade at her school with her. What a small world...we are all connected!
