Thank you so much everyone that has volunteered to help with sample sewing and pattern testing! I am flabbergasted at the response. I've had almost as many people volunteer their services as I had people enter my last giveaway. Over 500 sample sewers have emailed us. Wow. You guys know I'm not giving anything away right?
I've got everyone's emails filed away and I'll be in touch in a few weeks. Maybe sooner, we'll see.
Pretty thread huh? Gutermann was 50% off at Joannes a few weeks ago. Once when we were poor and starving I asked Dustin to run to the store to get me some thread. He came back with some Gutermann and I about died that he spent $3 on thread. Until I used it and I haven't really gone back. So silky and the colors they have-top notch IMO. I'll make sure to send some to the sewers we run with on this round!
xo,
Sandi

It makes me chuckle to imagine you walking into Joann's to buy thread now that you're FAMOUS!...and they even sell some of your products!...do the gals who work there know who you are?? That's so cool! And, I totally agree that Gutermann is splendid thread.... :)

I know what you mean. I only started using Gutermann this past year and will never go back, either. I find that my sewing machine doesn't get nearly as full of fuzz and I also love the brilliant colors. Quality products need quality thread.

Wow, that's a lot of responses!
I've heard only good things about Gutermann but I tried some once and it does WEIRD things to the tension on my machine that I can't fix. I have an OLD Bernina 801 (self-regulating tension, although it does have a tension dial) and I could not fix the tension no matter what I tried. I finally figured out it was the thread. I have no idea why!

My hubby gave me the whole 100 pack as a gift last Christmas. I thought I died and went to heaven.
He almost died and went to heaven when I found out how much he paid for it! We are still living on rations in our house lol.

Wow, at least you know you are well loved! I've gotta say I've only ever used Gutermann thread - does that make me a thread snob?? LOL!!

I heart Gutermann... i use it 90% of the time...

I Love Gutermann thread! I threw out all my "other" threads when I found it. I agree that you don't build up the fuzz in your machine. Whenever JoAnns has a 50% sale I stock up on the larger sizes. And I agree, they have the best colors!

I am also true to Guterman, I cannot get enough of it!

Gutermann's is a great thread and I love the half off sales at Joann's for thread. It is the only time to buy it - I always seem to stock up on the same colors without realizing it. I really should write down what I already have the next time I go, but that would make it too easy.
How goes the house hunt?

I love Gutermann too. I am drooling over the 100 spool cotton thread set in the case. Well, maybe when I am rich and famous I can get it. Heehee!!!!! But the colors really are lovely and it stitches up really nice.
And I am truly hoping you pick me to make up a sample or several. FUN!

I just bought my first spools of Gutermann for the last quilt I worked on, and you're right, not a better match could be found! The only problem is that here over the border it's even more!

Good morning Sandi! Just wanted to drop by and say how much I love your Farmer's Market fabric. I used it in making one of Amy Butler's Downtown bags for my 20 year old daughter. She absolutely loves the fabric and every where she goes, has people asking how to get one! I have posted a picture on my blog, if you get a chance to drop by. :)
I would love to be added to your list for pattern testers. What a fun idea!

I'm so glad I found Gutermann early on - the cheaper stuff is always so fuzzy! And I'm with you on the colors, and silly me, I like the tall skinny spools and the way the thread is secured!

Gutermann thread is the best. I had always used Coats and Clark until a lady I sewed with insisted that I use Gutermann and she was right it is the best.

I used Gutermann once as suggested by the ladies in the quilt shop and oh- they are nice. But yes, the pricey tag is hard to swallow. I always wait until the sales too!

Good hubs who instinctively know the 'good stuff' are keepers! I have one and I love him dearly!

Well the pleasure is definitely ours. Who wouldn't want a reason to start a new project, especially one of your patterns. Also it's funny, because when my mom bought me my sewing machine a couple of years ago, she took me to JoAnn's to pick up a pattern and some fabric. When we got to the thread she went all serious on me, said, "Never use cheap thread; it will cause you nothing but grief.", and picked up a spool of Gutermann. I have never used anything else.

oh darnit I missed out on offering to lend a hand with sewing services....well please put me in line for the Fall if you need help then. I would love too...and heck, if you have more than 500 projects this time around please keep me in mind :)
I am also a Gutermann snob....love love love their threads :)

I have to tell you a story about Joann's, because it is just darn cute if you ask me. My youngest daughter and I run errands during my other daughter's preschool hours. I have been seriously needing a sewing basket forever and decided to head to Joann's to hopefully find one I liked. We walked around the store and stopped to look at something unrelated (of course). Next thing I know, my daughter holds up a sewing basket she found and asks me if this is what I need - the cute part here - the fabric is your apple fabric and it is an exact match to her little girly skirt that she was wearing at that time! She then insisted we get it and carried it around the store, up and down every aisle giving the customers and employees a reason to smile. I loved it - pure coincidence. Lastly, the first thing I do when I receive a Joann's mailer - check for the Gutermann thread sale.

I agree with Gutermann, it has a lovely sheen to it. I've used the most lovely shade of turquoise on a white pillow case I made and wash after wash the thread still looks good! oh and Joann's is the bomb! I always buy it @ 50% off.

Please add me to your list of pattern testers, sample sewers. I've been sewing since my pre-teen's and love your farmer's market fabrics and patterns.

I would always get stuck on a project because I needed matching thread - so I took swatches of all of my fabric to JoAnn the last time Gutermann thread was on sale and got a spool to match each fabric. I shouldn't get stuck again... unless I buy more fabric! :)

I only use Gutermann thread, is there really any other kind? I especially love the multi colored thread when I am quilting. I missed out on the call to help sew, but if you still need someone or in the fall please put me on the list. How fun would that be, I can't even imagine. Love all your stuff, keep up the good work!

I realized I posted on the wrong post, so I'll make a pest of myself and add my willingness to serve here! I would be thrilled to pattern test--anything!--for you!
Thread is like candy--but without the calories! Your photo makes me want to go buy some!!

Hi Sandi. I just started to following your blog (I'd love to sample sew too). I have been waiting for you to post about your "SEW BEAUTIFUL" spread. It is awesome! I actually talked to Sis and she is so sweet and asked me what I'd like to see more of and I told her, definitely, more articles like your feature. Please brag about it in your blog (: I have the magazine and I want to make one of the tops. (: izazbz at yahoo dot com
