Whew!
You guys tired?
How was your summer?
Did you miss me? I missed you. :)
The last month has been a whirlwind. Camp, check.
Taking the girls in our ward to girls camp was an adventure I wouldn't trade. What memories were made-memories I will hold dear forever. The day we came home from camp, we packed up our house and moved.
The first morning in our new home, I woke up and found we had a new pet. In the back yard.
And our new pet has a twin!
And when I say they are in our backyard, I mean-right off the deck!
They will just frolic around the house, picking apples off the trees and nibbling grass. I came home late one night to a shock of a herd of deer in the driveway. I waited for them to scatter, but nope. They paused to toss one eye in my direction but kept on with what they are doing. The kids love it. I am quite enjoying it too, but hope they keep to their own next spring when I plant some flowers if ya know what I mean.
We are really happy to be back in Missoula-there is SO much to do here. Every other night there is a park function, free concert or other what nots to go to. I'm going to have to start documenting and sharing about our town with you guys. Montana certainly has a vibe and we love it here.
The last month has been back and forth back and forth back and forth between here and our last home but we are here for good now! (HOORAY!) Just in time for school to start on Monday. On our last trip through Idaho, we finished up with a jaunt through Yellowstone, it was still faithfull:
Oh, and one of the very first things I did when we got to Missoula was run off to the Farmers Market (the very one that inspired the fabric) and pick up a gallon sized back of huckleberries. Mmm..
Donned an apron:
And made JAM!
I am now going to loose myself in finishing up patterns, book and pitching colors for new fabric. All from my nice, new cozy work area. (pictures will come eventually-not going to say "soon" but eventually.) Hope you all had a great August! We'll be better pen pals in September.
xo

So good to see you popping up - I've been wondering how you're doing, and the move, and the new home, and, and, and. The twins are too cute (Porta and Bello?), and the shot with your kids in the foreground is an amazing shot!
I know what you mean about the Big M vibe. I felt it a few Autumns ago when I was there. I love Missoula! I'm so happy you're there, even though I was rooting for Oregon. Anyhoo... super duper happy Missoula joy to you all!
PS... the apron shot... you look fantastic!

Hey Sandi, glad you've had a good Summer and glad to have you back in blogland. I love your apron (you look good!) and skirt that your little girl is wearing. Love your new pets too! The only wild animals we get in our gardens in England are foxes, I would trade those for your fawns any day.

Wow, Sandi! Glad to hear from you! Missoula sounds like it will be fun for your family and that it will provide lots of great inspiration for you. I am sad August is leaving us. I am, however, looking forward to reading lots more about Missoula and your happenings in September.

Sounds like a lovely August; certainly a busy one.
As a child I would dream of going to Montana. Seeing the pictures and reading your descriptions brings back those memories.
Enjoy your new home.

I am from Southeast Idaho, and miss it so much. I love the deer in your back yard. Never would I ever see anything like that here in Houston. I hope you continue to enjoy your new place.

like everyone else I'm glad youre back. Missoula is a pretty town. We've stopped there severald times for a meal on our way to Butte. My DD really likes it as in, "I'd like to live there someday" I think it is a pretty place. Jam looks good, you do too!

Glad you had a great August - those deer are too precious - but I totally understand about the flowers. The jam looks too yummy and your apron I adore.

What a pleasant surprise in your back yard! I would not plan on EVER having flowers or a garden that you want to eat because I guarantee your new pets will always have first dibs. It's the price of admission. lol
YOU are looking fabulous in your apron. I'm sure all the running around with moving has made for a great exercise program! Keep up the good work.

You've moved to the place in my dreams. Deer in the yard? Farmer's markets? Jam? Sewing? Seriously, you have such a charming life!
Glad to see you blogging again! Missed your updates. Can't wait to see your studio.
Take your time though, we know how long it takes to get settled when you're busy with kids and life!

PS- YOU LOOK FAB!

Sandi...so glad to have you back blogging again. Missed your fun posts. Montana is a very pretty place. We have deer here in WA near Mt. Rainier...they truly love most of what my dear husband tries to grow. Love the deer enough to let them enjoy the flowers they want and we still have some for us to enjoy too. You do look fabulous and even in a pretty apron..you go girl!!

have family recently moved to Libby MT and everyone who visits just raves about the huckleberries. I'm getting an itch to see it - but not until after winter's passed!

I cannot believe you made jam in that apron! I've made jam. I've done embroidery and that apron is to adorable for even the thought of a jam stain! (I'm really not that messy with my jam but Even the thought... eek!) really cute apron and deer and kids of course! Have a great September tomorrow!!!
