This is one of those things that I started thinking about when I found out I was expecting a girl.
A few weeks ago, I was in the kitchen, and Dustin was in the living room going through the 10 pounds of papers that had accompanied Eliza's backpack home that day. All of a sudden, he let out a squeal to rival any teenage girl. A paper had come home informing us of the upcoming Daddy Daughter dance. Awww...
We all anxiously waited for the day to come and finally it arrived! I meant to actually make Eliza a new dress, but alas, this will just be one more thing that I chock up to "I didn't have to do that" list. (Everyone should start one of those lists, and add to it frequently.)
They had a great night, she got to wear makeup, he got her a corsage and ice cream. Well done, Daddy.
Here's a little home video, you can just see how excited she is!

What a sweet time. I remember getting India and Don ready for their first Daddy Daughter dance. I did not make her a new dress either, as we had found one to match one of Daddy's ties exactly. She had lots of ringlets in her hair and sparkles on her eyelids and lips. Daddy cried when they danced slow, as they both told me. Daddy said it was foreshadowing her wedding someday. Oh my. I wonder what will come first, Ahnalin's first daddy daughter dance, or India's brides father dance? Only God knows that one.

Sandi! Thank is so darn adorable. I have two irls and love seeing how excited they get about special times with their dad. I am in charge of organizing our first annual father daughter dance at the girls school (Paris theme for 300!) and hearing things like this makes me realize all the work is worth it! I 'm going to start one of those lists! Best idea ever. my girls won't be wearing handmade dresses either (mostly because they didn't want to :( Although it was sort of a relief!) You're looking great! hope all is well!

How wonderful! My 3 year old daughter will be experiencing her first Valentine's Party tomorrow. For some reason I was so tickled and rushed out to get the cards and stickers. And very quickly volunteered to help out.
Motherhood is such a beautiful thing:)

How fun. Mine is not in school yet. Her dad does take her on dates often though. It is fun, and she eats it up.

Oh my, my heart melted watching that. Your little girl is so sweet, and I loved how she kept hugging her daddy. And thank you for the reminder to make the "I didn't have to do that list." I really need to get started on one of those for myself.
