I have so many things in the ringers right now.. When I look at my to do list, it actually makes me laugh. Sort of in a maniacle way, so I'm not sure if that is ultimately a good thing or not, but somehow, I'm not feeling too stressed.
Things on the list?
Secret Garden is here - sample sewing and marketing preparation all around. I'm in love. It's the collection I've always dreamed of designing and now here it is. Makes me really happy.
Quilt Market is in about a weekish - booth preparations all OVER. Our booth is having a custom couch built by Dustin, a doorway and three quilts. Not to mention pillows, garments etc.. It is about 2 months worth of full time work to prepare for market and it always ends up happening in about 2 weeks. I did the coolest lampshades the other night..
50% Deadline of my second book hanging in the wings. Illustrations and instructions on every paper surface I see.
Lots of orders going out (thank you!!!) as we prepare to shut down our online shop for a few months to reorganize our distribution. We'll be closing the shop tomorrow to give us time to get all orders out before we leave for Quilt Market. It will most likely be a few months before we are taking orders again and then they will be shipping from a snazzy new organized warehouse and my house will be cleaner. My bank account smaller, but more time to braid my daughters hair.
If you would like anything, snatch it up quick! (PS, Gracie is almost out.)
I'm working on samples for my new partnership with Making Memories. It's awesome.. so awesome. Slice...
I'm also working on my next partnership with Making Memories. I'll wait to tell you more about that later, but I am so thrilled about it. Waited a long time to find a good fit for this project!
Umm.. let's see, what else? My Eliza turned 7. So in the midst of all this, we had a double birthday (Eliza's BFF was born 9 hours after her) bash at the local carousel. It was perfect - didn't have to clean up or decorate. Bliss for a busy party with a bazillion kids in attendance.
It was a Rapunzel / Tangled theme. I whipped out the cupcake tower and 5$ worth of plastic goodies again.
The other mom? She whipped out Rapunzels tower.
My sister whipped out adorable hats for the birthday girls..
Then I hosted the birthday sleep-over party with pizza and ice cream. I felt like wonder mom. Like I had accomplished 10 times more in one night than in 6 months of design work. It was the worst timing for a birthday party, but I've learned to make these things first priority and everything else will just fall into place.
I'll be back to show you Secret Garden soon, and hop over to the website today if you would like to snag a 50% off pattern. They won't be available tomorrow!

You ARE Super Mom :) I've always absolutely loved and admired the approach you guys take--parenthood first, career second. It's a lot of work, but you handle it with such grace. Keep on rockin', lady!

I keep seeing preview pictures of your booth at market on other blogs and it was FABULOUS! Congrats on the booth award! I just went to the Michael Miller site to see it all up close and OMG, it is AMAZING! Love, love, love it! The blues, reds and oranges are my favorites! I can't wait to see more of your pictures and get my hands on the fabric in person! I just finished off the last of my stash of Ginger Blossom (the first fat quarter stack I ever bought) and I think that I am going to have to follow up with a fat quarter stack of Secret Garden. BEAUTIFUL! No pressure to get your pics up, I am with you on putting the family first and I am sure that you had lots to catch up on with the kiddos! : )
