Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!

We are enjoying the day at my dad's Mountain Lodge retreat at the border of the Teton mountains in Idaho. It has been a blissful day so far and everyone is snuggled up now playing with new toys and books.

I wish you all a happy celebration, whatever you may be celebrating this season!

Log Cabin Yardage was dreamt up by Nicole Brewster with the help of her family, as an online fabric store based out of the Toronto, Canada greater-area. Utilizing her artistic background and her love of and inspiration for color, Nicole aims to bridge the “digital divide” by putting together colors for her customers on an personalized level. As the business keeps growing, Log Cabin Yardage is nearing its two-year birthday and is making plans to open a brick and mortar store in the near future!

Birdsong Bows

Birdsong Bows is the brain child of Deanna McCool, an accessories designer who began making hair bows for her daughters five years ago. In 2010, Deanna began writing tutorials and patterns to teach others how to make the crafts she enjoys. After teaching, one of her favorite parts of the creative process is designing new products. Drawing inspiration from the world around her color, fabric and great design in general help Deanna gets her creative juices flowing.With a background in journalism, Deanna takes pride in doing all of the writing and photography for her e-books and tutorials.

Sisters and partners-in-design, Susan Maw and Sally Bell have been designing together since they were children (ask them about the cat modeling their doll clothes creations!). Hailing from Northwest and Southwest Montana respectively, the two sisters love to design and create with fabric (the third younger sister is a jewelry designer who loves to create too!)

 

Together, as Maw-Bell Designs they balance each other out. Susan is organized, Sally is not; Susan has dogs, Sally has cats; Susan is right-brained, Sally is left; Susan likes red, Sally likes yellow, Susan uses a landline, Sally uses an IPhone! On some days they may switch attributes- but one thing remains constant: they both love to create! Mindy Gledhill

Vocalist and musician Mindy Gledhill comes to us with her fourth album, Winter Moon, Songs for Christmas. With a dreamy, inspirational tone this talented artist focuses on creating music inspired by poetry and nostalgia.

As a child Mindy was shaped by a range of music, from hymns to Rachmoninov on the piano and later 80’s music on the boombox. Welcome December!  The last few days have found me moving into my studio, moving my family into a new space, finishing my book and finalizing my next fabric collection.  I'm pooped.  But so ready to get this 12 Days of Christmas - 2011 going!

We are so pleased to open this event with our friends at the Fat Quarter Shop!

My lovely assistant Sahra has helped organize this event, and she created lovely write-ups on the businesses that are participating.  (We have a few spots open if you are interested!)

We are pleased to share the back story of how the Fat Quarter Shop came to be:

The more she quilted, the more Kimberly Jolly realized how much the fabric selection was lacking from both online and local shops.
