It's been hot around here. I know some of our Arizona and Vegas friends are way surpassing the 100 degree mark, and we're barely touching it so I feel rightfully silly whining, but this Montana girl is not up for triple degree weather. We melt.
When the night finally cools off, (summer nights are the best with a cool breeze coming through the window.. so nice) I have been painting.
I started working on a series of paintings for a future wall in a house we don't live in and haven't found yet. :) I love "frame walls".. all white frames closely bunched with pictures and art that you change out randomly. The Petersiks have an awesome one.
I started with a chicken. Elena the chicken actually. Elena was Ethans chicken. A sweet Buff Orpington that now lives with a friend after we moved from our last home. She's the one squished in the middle here:
He misses her, a lot really, whichs makes my mommy heart ping. So I started sketching her out in her poofy glory.
And filled her in with all those buff orpington yellows and oranges.
He thinks shes pretty great. Me? I'm embarassed by the accuracy of her booty fluff, and the lack of effort it took to achieve.
After the hen was done, feathers were the natural follow up.
They're fun.. but I'm not in love. I think I might try a non-technicolor version and see what I think.
Any of you have a frame wall? I'm excited.

They're beautiful. Are you working with watercolor? I think you may have done a post on it before so sorry for my lack of memory ;)

I need to do a frame wall. I reeeeally need to update my pictures, and print out new ones and make a frame wall. I like black frames though (but it is because my walls are white). Love the paintings! I need to pull out the watercolors... I pulled out the acrylics and meh, wasn't as satisfying.

Mercilus may start getting a few more snaps as the season progresses, but it probably won’t be in place of Connor Barwin as you might have expected. Instead, you can expect to see Wade Phillips continue to utilize Mercilus in Wade’s exotic packages where he uses Brooks Reed as a nickel LB and moves Mercilus down to Reed’s spot. We saw Wade use Reed as an ILB in nickel packages where a run play was a possibility since Reed is better equipped than Glover Quin to slow down the run. In fact, Wade was very creative with a few new looks from a personnel grouping standpoint.
Wade Phillips had no use for the talk about how much more dangerous Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense was this year as he blitzed Flacco with great regularity throughout the first half and completely took Flacco out of his game. Phillips blitzed 10 times in the first half and Flacco completed just one pass for 7 yards on those blitzes while giving up a safety and an interception.
